How The Brewery sets its sustainability strategy and pursues set objectives

EC&O Venues comprises three landmark London venues – Earls Court, Olympia and the Brewery – which are home to some of the best-known and most prestigious events in the UK.

EC&O Venues recognises that, in its day-to-day operations, its business impacts on the environment in a number of ways and it strives to minimise negative social, environmental and economic impacts while maintaining the high quality of its work.

The management of EC&O Venues is committed to seeking continuous improvement in all aspects of the company’s sustainability performance on its sites.

EC&O Venues’ ongoing sustainability objectives are:

1. To identify and engage with stakeholders and suppliers on issues of sustainability

2. To assess sustainability risks and opportunities presented by hosting events at EC&O Venues

3. To set sustainability key performance indicators and objectives for our work on events held in our buildings

4. To help to provide necessary resources and training for those involved in the contribution of event management within our buildings

The key strategies for sustainability within EC&O Venues are:

1. Benchmark the level of sustainability currently within EC&O Venues

2. Create a strategy for on-going implementation and measurement of sustainability

3. Start to raise awareness for the concept of a sustainable event with the events held at our venues

4. Gather feedback and learning on the implementation of a sustainable event management system

5. Work with our service partners to improve the sustainability of all the services provided at our venues
