Bruno Mars has album launch party in London

Singer-songwriter Bruno Mars hosted a launch party for his album last night, which has just reached number one in the UK chart.

Reports suggest that when choosing a location for the event, the party venues London had to offer caught his eye, so he held the launch night in the English capital. According to The Sun, Mars sported a dapper suit for the occasion, and looked happy as he performed some of his hits.

Throughout his set, he told the crowd: “Thank you London. I know it’s sweaty and it’s hot but there is no place I’d rather be right now.”

“I’m so happy I’m number one in the UK. I love this place.”

Guests at the soirée included Sugababes star, Amelle Berrabah, and two singers from boyband The Wanted, Tom Parker and Siva Kaneswaran.

The was a joint celebration, as Mars nabbed both the album and singles chart hotspots, with his debut record, Doo-Wops and Hooligans, and single Grenade respectively gaining the attention of music-loving Brits. According to BBC News, the album has sold around 86,000 copies throughout the UK, and it was written by three songwriters who were deemed to be Britain’s most successful in 2010 by Music Week.

This was not the first time Mars has expressed his love for Britain, recently telling Vigagogo: “It’s just such a special place for me, I just love it out here. I think the people are great. It’s just this is where it’s at for me. I’m getting a house over here; I know it. that’s the next investment.”

“I would love to thank all the UK fans, thank you guys so much for supporting my career and everything that I’m doing.”
