The majority of event industry professionals across Europe are recording a rise in conference business, reports meetpie.com.
Announced at EIBTM 2013, the leading global event for the meetings and events industry, new statistics from a poll of 700 business representatives by IBTM Global Research paint a positive outlook for 2014 and beyond.
A resounding 93 per cent of all buyer respondents said conference and events business across Europe would either stay the same or increase over the next 12 months.
This was an improvement on the 86 per cent who declared the same 12 months beforehand, illustrating just how strong the flow of both inbound and outbound is for planners on the continent.
Business from healthcare, financial services and electrical or communications companies is said to be fuelling the rise in events, helping to counterbalance a decline in demand from the construction and engineering sectors.
Respondents backed the average budget to increase by nine per cent over the next 12 months, adding that venues and destinations will be chosen on location, quality of service as well as value for money.
Spain and France were named the top two destinations for hosting events, reports successfulmeetings.com, with the UK, Russia, Germany, Turkey, Italy, Ukraine, Switzerland and the Netherlands all making the top ten.
