Event Production Awards launched

A new awards ceremony is to take place in 2012 for events professionals across Britain – the Events Production Awards.

This ceremony was masterminded by the creators of the Event Production Show, and the awards will take place for the first time in February 2012.

Event Industry News confirmed that the awards were “created to honour the very best suppliers within the events industry,” perhaps prompting professionals from function venues throughout the UK to start putting in their nominations for who they think should win.

There are a range of categories to nominate events specialists for; including ‘Supplier of the Year’, ‘Production Company of the Year’, ‘Seating Supplier of the Year’ and ‘Event Innovation of the Year’.

According to Access-AA.co.uk, the event will also name an ‘Employee of the Year’ and hand out a ‘Supreme Award’ to the “most admired” events firm.

A spokesperson for the awards, Nic Howden, argued the importance of the upcoming awards. He said: “It’s easy for industry ceremonies to get a bit staid and predictable, so it’s really exciting to see a new, inherently credible formula.”

“An Event Production Award will be the gong to have in 2012, and far beyond.”

The director of the awards also spoke out, claiming the ceremony would be: “The BAFTAs of the event industry.”
