Replica versions of the three Vera Wang dresses Kim Kardashian wore at her August wedding are going on sale – even though her marriage ended after 72 days.
According to Contactmusic.com, replicas fashioned by the designers at David’s Bridal are to be made available from February 2012.
It’s perfect for those who want to show up at their wedding reception venue in a different gown to that which they wore to the ceremony; however as all three gowns were a little racy, they may not be to everyone’s taste. What’s more, a source from the retail industry claimed: “Some on the sales side worry the dresses are cursed.”
However the executive vice president of David’s Bridal, Brian Beitler, went ahead and confirmed the news with the New York Post. He added: “The entire White by Vera Wang spring 2012 collection will be available exclusively at David’s Bridal stores next season.”
Having been nicknamed the ‘Kimitation’ dresses by the Huffington Post, the trio will include the “mermaid gown” from Kardashian’s lavish reception and a “Kim-inspired tulle ball gown”. The latter is modelled on the reality star’s dress from her wedding ceremony.
Each dress will cost around $1,500 (£936) to buy from David’s Bridal, making it a fairly average price for many brides-to-be.
