University launches course for events industry potentials

The University of Westminster is preparing to welcome the leading experts in event management, who will share their expertise at a prestigious four day course.

Event delegates will walk away with an Executive Certificate in Event Management. The short course is organised in conjunction with the Australian Centre of Event Management and will be presented by Dr Rob Harris the co-author of Events Management, one of the most widely used texts dealing with the industry in the UK.

The course provides attendees with the key skills and knowledge needed to create and deliver successful corporate, private and public events at a range of event venues. The course also intends to enhance the professional skills and knowledge of those already employed within the event industry and also serves as a platform for those wanting to forge a career within the industry.

Rob Davidson, Program Director in Event Management at the University of Westminster told Event Industry News: “Event management is a key growth area for London’s economy and increasingly demands professionals with recognised skills, trained in the art and science of event management.”

“This is especially true as the 2012 Olympics fast approaches and the opportunities to leverage this event for the purpose of conducting a range of sporting, business and celebratory events increase. As one of the world’s most creative event cities, London is the perfect location for event professionals to add value to their career with a professional qualification and network with the leaders of the industry, their fellow students and future colleagues,” he added.
