Gavin and Stacey star James Corden has postponed his wedding to fiancé Julia Carey as will be too busy working on the stage for the foreseeable future.
While the news is a blow for all those waiting to find out more details about the dress or choice of wedding reception venue, Corden will still be pleased with his rising success in the West End.
The Mail Online reports that the 33-year-old comedian has put the wedding on hold so that he can perform in the hit production One Man, Two Guvnors in America.
After selling-out seasons at the National Theatre and Adelphi Theatre, in London, the smash-hit comedy is to open on Broadway in New York in April – clashing with the previously arranged wedding date.
“I’m not getting married just yet, I’m too busy working,” Corden told The People newspaper. “I’m off to New York in a few months. There is just too much going on.
Describing his Broadway role as “the best prize” ever, he continued: “I will be taking my family with me which will be amazing but it has meant we’ll have to marry when we get back. We haven’t set a [wedding] date yet.”
Corden proposed to Carey on Christmas Day in 2010. The couple have since had a child, in March last year, and Corden is hopeful that David Beckham may be interested in being his best man when the long-awaited nuptial final arrives.
