‘True Blood’ star Alexander Skarsgard has revealed that he likes to give a patriotic nod to his native Sweden when he throws a party.
Contactmusic.com reported that he will often serve up Swedish delicacies such as mulled wine, aquavit, salmon and pickled herring at the events; with the actor confirming that he loves this type of treat.
In fact, Skarsgard may soon be on the lookout for function venues, as he likes to organise an event in December – as well as another in the summer.
He explained: “I usually throw a glug [Swedish mulled wine] party right before Christmas. And then midsummer is a very big deal in Sweden. It’s our fourth of July almost. I usually throw a midsummer party in June.”
Despite living in Los Angeles, Skarsgard revealed that he is happy to fly over to his homeland in Europe – even if it is just for a weekend, according to Monsters and Critics; which confirmed Skarsgard’s next major role will be in the remake of ‘Straw Dogs’, alongside James Marsden and Kate Bosworth.
The 35-year-old Swede, who plays Eric Northman in True Blood, is the son of iconic Swedish actor Stellen Skarsgard from his first wife. Television buffs may also recognise him from ‘Generation Kill’ and ‘Zoolander’.
