The adoption of new technology has been key to the success of the events industry, claims the chairman of the IMEX Frankfurt exhibition.
During today’s opening of the ninth annual exhibition, Ray Bloom stated that adapting to new technology has allowed meeting planners to stay ahead of the game.
This has allowed those involved with booking corporate venues to recover from an uncertain economic picture whilst becoming stronger and more flexible, he claimed.
Speaking to citmagazine.com, he said: “One area in which evolution has accelerated at an extraordinary pace is in technology. Technology has changed the content of meetings, the interaction of delegates and the speed, type and method of delivery.
“After caution and restricted demand we are glad to see signs of upturn in the industry.”
Imex-frankfurt.com report that staff from the exhibition displayed an example of new technology within the events industry by showcasing their brand new app for events industry staff.
Eric Rosenberg, who owns his own events business, agreed with Bloom’s comments and stated that the passion of staff was now key to the continued growth of the industry.
Representatives from over 3,500 events industry companies attended the IMEX Frankfurt exhibition last year and had the opportunity to network with like-minded executives and learn from key speakers.
This year’s event runs until May 26.
