Global financial services provider American Express (AMEX) has unveiled an event management and planning tool that could save meeting venues a quarter of their organisational costs.
‘Meetings Expert’ was created specifically for those who may not be familiar with the process of setting up a meeting. Ostensibly it is also catered for “ad hoc” meetings that take place outside of a managed and centralised events program.
Commenting on Breaking Travel News, Issa Jouaneh, vice president and general manager ofAmerican Express Meetings and Events, explained: “As companies direct more of their attention toward meeting and expense consolidation, Meetings Expert offers solutions for those who continue to plan meetings on an ad hoc basis.
“Even for companies only requiring meetings sourcing support intermittently, implementing structure around the process is important,” he says.
Jouaneh argues that often, the management of meetings and associated expenses becomes one of the largest categories of “uncontrolled spend for most companies.” AMEX’s new tool will simplify all aspects of a meeting; from the booking of conference rooms, accommodation and catering, to ancillary spending.
Quickly rolling throughout Europe and Australia, AMEX said that American firms have already made average savings of around 28 per cent per meeting after using Meetings Expert.
Businesses who use Meetings Expert are said to benefit from cost control due to its core focus on planning meetings that are compliant to a standard meeting policy with leading practices, BusinessWire.com adds.
