A fashion writer has suggested that ladies preparing for their Christmas party should focus on buying a great coat, as well as a nice outfit.
Writing for theguardian.com, Lauren Cochrane says coats are now as big a statement piece as the outfit itself and suggests choosing a very 90s puffa jacket or perhaps something leopard print.
In fact, she states that leopard print is a great winter-friendly choice, mostly because it stands out a lot more than something plain. The little black dress is falling out of fashion as online shopping becomes more popular, because it often doesn’t look great in pictures – therefore, the same can be said of the Christmas party photos.
For those that aren’t brave enough for leopard print but still don’t want to wear black, white dresses are a great alternative because they tie in beautifully with the winter theme. It also means the wearer won’t be lost in the background too.
Prom=type dresses are also in at the moment and Ms Cochrane notes that it’s the type of dress that makes it feel like it’s party time, which is why so many people love wearing them. A separate article on hertsandessexobserver.co.uk adds that such statement dresses don’t need much adding to them, so suggests keeping accessories and jewellery to a minimum with this type of outfit.
