Hillary Scott, the lead singer of Lady Antebellum, has announced that she married her partner Chris Tyrrell, the band’s drummer.
According to OK! USA, the country music stars were wed on Saturday in front of their loved ones, only six months after the groom proposed to his now-wife.
The ‘Just a Kiss’ singer broke the news on the Lady Antebellum website, speaking directly to the pair’s fans. Scott stated: “We got married! We just wanted you to hear it from us first. We love you. We’re so excited to be starting our life together and we just had to let you in on the exciting news.”
What’s more, her new husband also expressed his joy in the video message, saying: “I’d like to introduce you to Mrs. Hillary Scott Tyrrell.”
Details released by the pair explained that Scott wore a Vera Wang dress and that Steven Curtis Chapman performed for the couple, making their first dance extra special. The groom wore a Ermenegildo Zegna suit and although the actual reception venue was not revealed, it is likely the band’s fans will take inspiration from other details of the day – such as the beautiful wedding ring presented to Scott during the ceremony.
They may be inspired by the proposal too, which Scott spoke about in People magazine. Cited by Mail Online, she said: “Chris proposed exactly the way I’ve always dreamed. Our families were close by, but it was just us out on a beautiful deck.”
Although the pair were surrounded by family and friends for the big day, their fellow bandmates were unable to attend. However Dave Haywood and Charles Kelly said they were anticipating having a private celebration over the next few weeks.
