‘X Factor’ host Dermot O’Leary is celebrating getting engaged to his girlfriend of nine years, Dee Koppang.
The news was revealed during Saturday’s edition of the behind-the-scenes show, the ‘Xtra Factor’, when host Caroline Flack couldn’t help but congratulate her colleague.
It has since been reported that O’Leary popped the question to his significant other during a mini-break in New York earlier this month.
According to Mail Online, the pair were enjoying an intimate meal in a Manhattan restaurant when the 38-year-old presenter dropped down on one knee and presented a diamond engagement ring.
However either have confirmed any of the rumours surrounding the date of the nuptials or the wedding reception venue.
Shortly after the big news was revealed, ‘Xtra Factor’ co-host Olly Murs asked O’Leary why he had taken so long to pop the question to his partner. The beaming host replied: “Well, you don’t want to rush these things.”
Shortly after the show, he sent out a tweet thanking all of his fans for their congratulatory messages and claimed that he was a “very lucky boy”.
According to wedding-news.co.uk, friends of the couple had reportedly been expecting an engagement to be announced shortly, after the pair bought a £3.5 million home in North London together earlier this year.
