DRP Group and ECO Events have created a new poster to promote sustainability in the UK events industry.
According to citmagazine.com, the ‘Save’ poster outlines a series of simple, cost effective practices that could help event spaces and planner get involved with sustainability.
Standing for ‘Sustainability Action for Venues and Events’, Save provides small and medium-sized enterprises with an affordable route to take on their quest to become more sustainable.
The poster also provides information on choosing a representative ideal to drive their programme – listing sought-after qualities and what sustainable practices can offer in the long-term.
EcoEvents director Sam Wilson said his organisation has been working closely with industry powerhouses over recent years, but the new poster is designed especially for smaller firms who may feel that being energy efficient and sustainable requires financial backing.
Mr Wilson told conference-news.co.uk: “Most cannot afford the services of a consultant, while others may not want to achieve certification, but they still need to manage their operations and maintain legal compliance.”
Dale Parmenter, group director or event management company DRP Group, said the new partnership aimed to bring strategy to life with the new poster, which has been designed to compliment the existing ISO 20121:2012 standard for sustainable events management.
Mr Parmenter added: “Client requirements are increasing every year so the industry needs a managed approach to meeting them and to deliver the evidence that policies have been not just supported, but contributed to.”
