Former wild child Nicole Richie has married her long-term beau, rocker Joel Madden, in a lavish winter wedding – with their two children, Harlow and Sparrow present as flower girl and ring-bearer, reports People Magazine.
According to Richie, the daughter of music legend Lionel, the wedding “was magical” and her husband agreed, claiming “It was the best night of my life!” According to her husband, Richie was given full control over the plans: “If there’s one time I want her to have the craziest thing she wants, it’s the day we marry.”
The wedding reception party venue was designed specifically to mimic a French garden and played host to guests such as Quincy Jones (Richie’s Godfather), Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner, Gavin Rossdale and his wife Gwen Stefani, reports Contact Music. To add a bit of warmth to the cool weather expected this Christmas, British brides could think about imitating Richie’s theme.
This is easily achieved by integrating style features such as vanilla or lavender scents (perhaps in a candle), glazed pottery (which would work for centrepieces), and pastel colour schemes – such as a dusty rose or sage green theme. In terms of mimicking French cuisine, roast chicken and lamb dishes are often popular at French weddings, and for veggie guests – ratatouille.
Richie’s main gown (she changed three times) was designed by Marchesa and featured a spectacular ball gown skirt – with over 100 yards of tulle petals and hand-crafted silk organza. It is thought Richie took inspiration from movie star Grace Kelly’s wedding dress, which could inspire British brides to seek inspiration from their favourite movie stars.
