The Hospitality Guild has launched a new accreditation which recognises those in the industry who offer good training and career development to their staff, according to hotel-industry.co.uk.
The organisation, which was established last year, brings together a number of industry associations and professional bodies in the industry to promote things such as innovation in the hospitality sector. It is claimed that the new kitemark system, which has been launched in association sector skills council People 1st, has been designed to help those in the industry promote their commitment to training and staff development.
Talking about the accreditation, which could be suitable for those running corporate venues, hotels and bars, Annette Allmark, head of professional standards at People 1st told bighospitality.co.uk: “We’ve been working to raise professional standards in the industry for a number of years and while we know of a number of employers who really do offer their team members fantastic training and career development opportunities, there was really nothing that recognised this officially.”
Ms Allmark also said that she thought the new kitemark system will help to improve staff retention levels of those in the industry.
Businesses who want to apply to have either individual courses or entire work programmes kitemarked should visit Hospitality Guild’s website for more information.
