British actor Kris Marshall is set to marry girlfriend Hannah Dodkin, but they have no plans to have a big, lavish wedding.
The ‘Love Actually’ and ‘My Family’ star revealed that both he and Ms Dodkin are not fans of that type of event, even though he has been involved in them on-screen, reported contactmusic.com.
As one of the main characters in a recent BT television commercial campaign, he had to play the role of the groom and found the experience unsettling. Marshall said: “Just filming the scene with the white tables and speeches made me feel ill. Even pretending to get married like that was awful.”
He has been dating his fiancee since the start of 2010 and admitted that he is not sure exactly what they will do for their wedding, but suggested that when they do find a the perfect wedding reception space, they want to go about things a little differently to the norm.
But Marshall is not the only famous face from British television screens who looks set to tie the knot soon, with DIY SOS presenter Nick Knowles proposing to his girlfriend on a trip to South Africa, according to Press Association.
The 49-year-old revealed that he was nervous when he knelt down in front of Jessica Rose – who is half his age – even though he was confident she would say yes.
