Last-minute Halloween costumes can be a hit, claims columnist

Party goers don’t need to spend days working out Halloween costumes, as there are plenty of options that can be knocked up with just a few props.

Writing for, columnist Maria Pierides described how women can still be more “gorgeous than ghoulish” with a last-minute costume, claiming that just four items could allow ladies to look like Cruella de Vil, Cat Woman, Bride of Frankenstein, Elvira or the White Witch of Narnia.

“Halloween night is nearly upon us, so we’re hoping you’ve got your big, bad, scary costumes sorted for a chilling evening of trick or treating and all-round ghoulish behaviour. If you’re still stumped, don’t worry, it’s not too late for you to get involved,” said Ms Pierides.

For example, to dress up as Cat Woman before heading to event venues, she advised finding some black leggings, a black polo-neck jumper and applying plenty of eye-liner, then making some black cat ears using an old hairband.

While female revellers can use Ms Pierides tips to put together a good outfit, their male counterparts could listen to veteran shock rocker Alice Cooper, who recently revealed how dresses at Halloween.

According to, the 64-year-old singer had a fondness for dressing up as Zorro when he was a child, but this has changed in adulthood. He spends most of his time looking peculiar so on Halloween he likes to dress like an insurance salesman.
