Sports fans hoping to host parties in honour of the Olympics can finally begin booking event spaces, as the London 2012 Olympic Games schedule of events has been released.
Organisers have released the schedule a month before the tickets go on general sale, in order to allow fans time to decide which events they would like to apply for, Sky News reported.
It is thought the days that will be popular include July 29th and August 3rd, when Rebecca Adlington will defend her two Olympic gold titles. August 4th is expected to be popular as well, as Jessica Ennis attempts to add to her European and World heptathlon titles.
The men’s 100 metre final – which will feature Jamaica’s Usain Bolt – is likely to take centre stage on Sunday 5th August.
As reported by BBC News, London 2012 chairman, Sebastian Coe, described them as “the greatest tickets on earth for the greatest show on earth.”
“This is a really big moment, a huge moment. In my own experience as a competitor, this is the point that it suddenly becomes very real,” Coe added.
“We are now getting to the business-end of the project, and we know from the number of people who have signed up for ticket information that there is a real hunger from all parts of the country to be there.”
The tickets for the Olympic Games will go on sale on March 15th, and fans will have until April 26th to apply for their share of the 6.6 million tickets being made available to the public. Additionally, tickets for the Paralympic Games go on sale on September 9th.
