Mumford & Sons singer Marcus Mumford has asked for actress Carey Mulligan’s hand in marriage, reports Mail Online.
The couple, who have been dating since February this year, have been embroiled in a whirlwind romance for five months; culminating in the singer asking the actress to marry him.
Mumford popped the question to Mulligan at a £250-a-night hotel in Somerset and afterwards Mulligan “spent the intimate break showing guests her new diamond ring.”
Speculation is rife as to the where the ceremony and the wedding reception venue will be located, but currently this is unknown – as is the date of the wedding.
An onlooker at the hotel told The Sun: “Carey looked like the cat who had got the cream. She was wearing a beautiful ring and didn’t seem to mind who saw it.
“They were stuck to each other like glue,” the onlooker added. “She was doing most of the talking and he was hanging on her every word.”
The pair began dating after each partner split up from long-term loves, with Mumford breaking up with folk-singer Laura Marling and Mulligan calling it a day with ‘Transformers’ actor Shia LaBoeuf.
A spokesmen for Marcus and Carey refused to comment in The Sun last night.
