Many couples are hiring ‘food designers’ for their wedding day, it has has been claimed.
It is reported by that many couple are demanding more from their wedding caterers on their big day, with a menu that is personal to them, rather than a mass-produced set menu for the food served at their wedding reception venue. This could reflect their tastes, culture, personality and travels.
It is also claimed that there is now more concentration on the types of ingredients used, as well as the way the food is presented.
Talking about the trend, Karen Kemp, from Staffordshire-based catering company Kemp & Kemp, told burtonmail.co.uk: “The wedding breakfast is at the heart of the celebrations, but sadly all too often the food that is served up is impersonal and forgettable.”
She continued: “We work with our couples to design a tailored menu that includes their favourite flavours and ingredients and reflects their personality, just as if they were hosting an intimate dinner part at home.”
