Bored Londoners can now browse what’s going on in the capital at the click of a button, thanks to a new iPhone app.
The app, called YPlan, provides users with a list of events going on in the capital and lets them buy tickets at heavily discounted prices.
YPlan only lists up to ten events happening that day in London so that users can plan a spur-of-the-moment evening out with little effort.
In an interview with wsj.com, the app’s co-founder Rytis Vitkauskas believes the lack of choice is what makes it so appealing for consumers and businesses.
He explained: “There is a lot of research that shows the absence of too much choice makes the consumer buy more rather than less. If you have 100 events you would be less likely to go to one because you would be overwhelmed by choice.”
It would appear that many of the party venues London has to offer are more than happy to offer last-minute discounts to YPlan users if it helps them sell more tickets. Some of the venues listed even allow users to enter for free.
According to wired.com, the app also includes a neat referral system which offers users £7 of credit for referring an event to a friend and an extra £7 if they attend.
