New York Bridal Week revealed some striking new trends this week. The 2013/2014 collections from some of the biggest wedding gown designers were showcased.
Hellomagazine.com revealed that the shows went on for three days, giving brides-to-be inspiration for their impending big day.
While some of them will only have just started looking for a ceremony or wedding reception venue, some may already have found their dream dress on the catwalk.
The heavyweights of the bridal couture world revealed their cutting edge designs and created new, sometimes-outlandish looks. Vera Wang, Marchesa and Monique Lhullier were just some of the designers to feature.
Boston.com featured photographs of brides carrying ornate umbrellas draped with white, sheer fabric. They appeared to be a unique replacement for a veil that could become a popular trend for brides. The umbrella-veils could prove particularly useful for brides getting married in the winter months, who could use them as a shield from the rain.
Intricate beading on bodices was seen on several designs, while the traditional white colour appears to be making a comeback for the new season.
Pockets also featured in Angel Sanchez’ designs, something that may come as welcome news to many brides. Having a place to stash make-up for touch ups, or even a camera may be extremely useful on the big day.
