UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) has begun the search for a contractor to fulfill an events contract worth between £6-£8.5 million.
The ‘prime contractor’ will be trusted with managing an Overseas and UK Events and Missions programme between 2013-2015, which the UKTI hopes will increase its event attendance by 25 per cent year on year.
The organisation works with UK-based businesses to ensure their success in international markets whilst encouraging overseas companies to invest in the UK.
Meetpie.com says the number of events put on by UKTI is likely to total around 400 for the year, so conference centres around London may also win significant pieces of business through the deal.
The UKTI is looking to host events “that drive improved quality scores and value to UKTI customers at a lower programme cost per service delivery.”
Along with sector events hosted on home soil and overseas, the programme will include inward missions and outward missions. The UKTI’s remaining customer services will be delivered by the organisation’s in-house events teams.
The contract will be awarded on “the most economically advantageous tender”, which means the UKTI is seemingly willing to part with all of its allocated spend to find the right deal.
Applications are due by 20 February, with accessmylibrary.com predicting an announcement to arrive by April this year.
