The Saturdays singer Una Healy and her rugby star boyfriend Ben Foden have announced their engagement, reports Hello!.
She told the audience at the group’s London Arena show on Sunday (December 18th) that Foden had proposed to her the previous night and wore an engagement ring for the first time in public.
They have not given any indication about when they will be hiring out event venues for their wedding, but the ceremony was largely expected, as Healy is pregnant with the rugby-playing 26-year-old’s baby.
In a tweet, she responded to well-wishers by saying: “Thank you so much for all the lovely messages for @Ben_Foden and I on the announcement of our engagement. Big love to you all xxx.”
According to Mail Online, Foden had publicly declared his intention to marry the 30-year-old Irish star earlier this year, revealing that the couple have been discussing marriage for some time. In an interview, he said wanted to spend the rest of his life with his girlfriend and was “over the moon” about their forthcoming child.
When asked how he would propose to Healy, the Northampton Saints and England player suggested he might buy a Cartier ring for his partner, but added that she is “very discerning” about jewellery.
