Britain’s national tourism agency Visit Britain has updated its commitment to the events industry by revamping its National Meetings and Events Week campaign.
In its tenth year, the event will now be known as Britain for Events 2010, aiming to showcase the £22bn a year contribution that the events and conference industry brings to the UK economy.
According to Event magazine, the Britain for Events campaign will now occur over an extended period of time, with multiple seminars, an MP forum and exhibition at the Birmingham NEC all highlighting the plethora of event venues that the UK has to offer. Open to corporate organisations, SME’s and individuals, the industry event is hoping to generate more interest and investment in event spaces and conference venues in premier locations such as London.
Visit Britain co-ordinator, Simon Mills, commented on the revamped showcase campaign to Event magazine, saying: ”We are looking to raise our game again, and not just because we have reached our landmark tenth anniversary. By adopting the new Britain for Events 2010 branding, we are looking to use the vast reach of Visit Britain, its international network and corporate partners.”
With the UK hosting the Olympics and London in contention for Conference and Incentive Travel’s world conference destination prize, now is a good time to engage in events.
