The England Footballers hosted their first ever Lions & Roses Charity Dinner at The Brewery on Sunday 26th February.
Guests included former England players Gary Neville and Denis Wise as well as JLS, Ray Winstone and Dragons Den Theo Paphitis. The auction raised an estimated £250,000 for the England Footballer Foundations charity partners.
The evening which was hosted by Clive Tyldesley, Ben Shepard and Gabby Roslin and included performances from Ellie Golding and Tinie Tempah and an impromptu performance by JLS.
Speaking at the event Ashley Cole said: “Tinie Tempah was brilliant, it was amazing to see everyone here supporting this event as it is the first time we have organised something like this.”
The auction which included a world exclusive Bentley and lunch with Ellie Goulding saw Ashley Cole bidding against Ray Winstone.
Joe Hart said: “It has been a fantastic evening, it’s great to see everyone support these charities. We want to thank everyone involved in making Lions & Roses happen and for making it such a successful night.”
Simon Brown, Ambassador for Help For Heroes added: “I don’t think people really appreciate how much it means to charities like Help For Heroes to have the support of the England footballers. We cannot thank the players enough for what they have done, not only through donating their match fees but also helping to raise awareness. ”
Stephanie Moore MBE, Bobby Moore Foundation said; “It has been a wonderful evening. An event like this helps raise awareness for all the charities involved and we really appreciate all the support that everyone has given us.”
To date the England team have raised over £2.2 million for charities including Together for short lives (formerly known as Children’s Hospices UK), WellChild, the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK and the Professional Footballers Association charity initiatives. Their current charity partners are Help for Heroes and Cancer Research UK as well their own Outreach programme.

As part of our December 2011 Christmas party season we transformed The Brewery into the magnificent Clandestine Club. It was without question one of favourite Christmas seasons yet and we are pleased to say the guests who were lucky enough to experience the club for themselves felt the same way. “We had a wonderful evening – I have received more compliments this year than ever before regarding the food. The guinea fowl was a massive hit and I even had loads of people say how lovely the soup was. I am so pleased about that and I did ask Richard to let chef know on Saturday itself because people were coming up to me all the time praising the food and these people are not new to the Brewery. Richard is a lovely guy and was so attentive. He looked after us very well and I would like you to thank him on our behalf – he also helped out on a couple of things that we were unprepared for. Also, lots of people were very appreciative of the theming and décor. I personally loved it all. I felt that the tasting in the Porter Tun room maybe didn’t prepare me fully for the evening itself and what to expect when you entered the Clandestine Club – the accordion player was a real treat for me since my father used to play and I haven’t heard it since he passed away last year.” Buhler Sortex
It has been a busy few months at The Brewery and is only going to continue as we embark on the busy Christmas party season. We’ve hosted some really exciting events recently and we wanted to share some of the amazing feedback that our team has recieved. It seems that our clients love us as much as we love them.
“I wanted to say a special thank you to Graham and his team – they really were excellent all evening – Graham in particular was incredibly accommodating and attentive – nothing asked for was a problem and everything was taken care of quietly, efficiently and with a minimum of fuss! We couldn’t have asked for better!
The bar staff were excellent as well and we were really well looked after by everyone involved – It has even been commented on here internally and by clients this morning about how good the Brewery staff were – so obviously we are really pleased with that!
The food was really good and the drinks upstairs and downstairs was done really well – they even went to the trouble of arranging the table for our cake which i really didn’t expect them to do – but was really appreciated – I am very cack handed so I am sure I would have made a mess of it….”
“I just wanted to drop you both a note to say thank you so much for all your assistance in the organisation of yesterday’s conference and dinner. The day was a huge success and we have had some excellent feedback from guests about the venue, especially the catering, so please pass my thanks onto the chef. Apparently the chicken that was served at lunch was the best chicken they’ve ever had at a conference!

The Brewery has recently been going from strength to strength, hosting up to 6 events a day for a range of the worlds leading companies across a variety of industries. We have recieved so many lovely comments over the past few months that we wanted to share a very small selection of them with you here.
