Success Story Series #5: Tatiana, Marketing Manager
March 21, 2024
Our dedicated employees are the driving force behind our success. From the meticulous planners to the welcoming receptionists, the talented kitchen staff, the hardworking cleaning crew, and the efficient operation, finance, and logistics teams, every single member of our team goes above and beyond to preserve the legacy of The Brewery. It's time we bring attention to the remarkable individuals who make our organisation what it is today.
This month, let's shine a well-deserved spotlight on Tatiana, Marketing Manager.
Hi there, Tatiana! To start off, could you share a bit about yourself and your background?
As you may know, I am French, originally from Paris. At the beginning of 1999, when I was 6, my family relocated to Beijing, where I spent a transformative decade. Growing up in such a diverse, multicultural, and multilingual environment, particularly before the 2008 Beijing Olympics, greatly shaped who I am today.
For my higher education, I returned to Paris to pursue my bachelor's degree in Political Science and International Relations, which I completed in Denmark. I then undertook a master's degree in Tourism Management, studying in Paris, and completing my two final internships in Spain and in London.
After several years in London, a brief stop in Shanghai, and a few jobs in various industries, I made the decision to start from scratch, and enrolled in a postgraduate diploma in Events Management and Marketing from The Event Academy in London. Since then, for the past 9 years, I’ve been living in London.
Could you tell us what brought you to The Brewery and walk us through your career journey?
As part of my postgraduate diploma with the Event Academy, I was required to complete a three-month work placement. My first choice for this was The Brewery. I still remember how I felt when I first stepped into the courtyard before my interview six years ago; I knew right then that I wanted to work here. I was pleased to join the company as a Sales Intern, from there progressing to Event Sales Coordinator and then to Marketing Executive.
After four years at The Brewery, I accepted a Marketing Manager position at a company in the real estate and co-working industry in 2021. While the experience was enriching and allowed me to meet some amazing people, my heart remained tethered to The Brewery - the brand, and its people.
In January 2023, the opportunity to return as Marketing Manager emerged, so I came back as I was keen to participate in the growth of this beautiful venue.
Could you provide an overview of the marketing department and how it is structured?
The goal of the marketing team is to enhance brand awareness and maintain our brand's reputation, acquire new customers, and improve our customer interactions by providing all the necessary marketing materials to the sales team.
We are a relatively small marketing team. My role involves defining the marketing strategy based on the company’s objectives, creating marketing campaigns, contributing to the development of new products, collaborating cross-functionally, and reporting on marketing metrics. I report to our Sales and Marketing Director, Simon Lockwood.
We also have the content side, overseen by Melanie, which includes the creation of our blogs, articles, case studies, as well as managing our social media presence.
Alongside us, we have a few agencies that we work with to help us with our website, SEO, PPC (Pay-Per-Click) campaigns and design work.
How does the marketing team work with other teams?
The marketing team works closely with all departments at The Brewery, as we contribute to anything branded or involving new products.
We work particularly closely with the sales team, as within any business, these teams are always connected by driving business growth. Marketing generates leads, while the sales team converts enquiries and offers valuable insights for targeting future clients. Combining sales and marketing is extremely important in order to create a cohesive customer experience.
We also work closely with the HR department on lots of the employer brand activities, including creating these success story articles and social media for staff events. Our primary goal is to showcase how great it is to work at The Brewery.

What campaigns are you currently working on?
Currently, my focus is on Summer 2024 and Christmas 2024. We're introducing a new concept this summer called The Retreat. Previously, we had an English garden theme in our cobbled courtyard, but we decided it was time for a change. The concept aims to establish a contemporary, chic, and relaxed atmosphere within a stylish setting. We're adopting a market-style approach to food (you can see our menu here), alongside an assortment of exceptional cocktails, sustainable wines and beers from local breweries. I really can’t wait to see all the hard work come to fruition in just two months!
I am also really looking forward to Christmas 2024. Our theme, The Electric Flamingo, has been really fun to work on!
What was your favourite campaign you’ve worked on at The Brewery?
I loved my first campaign as a marketing executive: “We Meet Again”, launched right after life was beginning to return to normal after the pandemic. The design, as always, was creative and quirky, but what made it truly special was its emotional resonance. After 17 long months, we were finally able to open our doors and resume hosting events!
I’ve also enjoyed working on The Retreat's campaign as it's a fresh concept. Being involved in all stages of the process, from brainstorming the concept to designing brochures, menus, and even sourcing furniture, has been great.
Aside from the campaigns, I am involved in a lot of different and exciting projects. One highlight was the 2023 launch of our new website, where I contributed to copywriting, design, and layout. It's a lot of work, but seeing it go live makes it all worth it!

What are you most looking forward to in the coming months?
There’s so much to look forward to! It’s an exciting time to be at The Brewery with The Retreat set to debut in just a couple of months, and The Electric Flamingo this Christmas.
Wedding season is also underway, with our first one held last week! It’s wonderful to see the venue dressed in another light. It really is a beautiful space to get married in.
In the longer term, I’m looking forward to continuing to build a strong brand, and growing the marketing department with Melanie.
How would you describe the culture at The Brewery?
I believe we have a very positive and supportive culture at The Brewery, which is why, like myself, many of us have returned to the company after time away. The level of retention is also a strong indication of this, with many team members having dedicated many years, and even decades, to the company. Our HR team does a great job at making us feel appreciated with regular employee recognition gestures, which contributes to making this a great place to work.
